HELPING THEM COME TO CHRIST FROM THE DEPTHS OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION
Here you will learn about a thriving ministry taking place in various regions of Russia. In about 12 years dozens of Christian Rehabilitation Centers have been started and literally thousands of young people have been delivered from the bondage of heavy drug or alcohol addiction. Without any medications of psychotherapy whatsoever.
We believe that the need is huge in Russia today - for there are right now 2,5 million drug addicts in the country, according to an official Drug Control Federal Board report as of September 2008. The vast majority of these would be between 23 and 35 years of age, and their life expectancy is estimated to be only 5-7 years. About 30.000 die annually because of various reasons connected with drug addiction - that is twice more that during the whole ten-year perion of the Soviet-Afghan war. This comes to 80 young people daily.
On the other hand, we want to thank all those who have been helping all this time and continue to help this work on the "earthly level" - with food, clothes, finances and personal participation. So much have been achieved because of your help!
That's why we invite you to join hands with us in this ministry, so that in the nearest years to come we could see many more Rehablilitation Centers started, many more regions covered with social work, and what is the most important - many more men and women saved from utter self-destruction, caused by drugs, unto the glorious freedom of the sons and daughters of the Living God.

My name is Deah Rice and I am a volunteer at the Good Samaritan central office in St. Petersburg. I am an American. I only came to Russia two months ago, but I have been blessed to work alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ in this ministry since I arrived.
Many of these young men and women suffered a lot, have lost dead many of their friends, and have almost lost their lives themselves - but the Lord Jesus Christ has saved them and changed them so drastically.
For all the wonderfull results of this ministry we want first of all to give all the credit to God in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour! It is He who saves and regenerates perishing people to start with, and all the rest of us are, at the very best, just participants and co-workers in His endeavor.
A lot have been done - but much more remains to be finished. What is several hundred people in our Rehab Centers, compared to 2,5 million addicts in the country and to a huge death rate of those who didn't manage to get help? We see clearly that it is a possibility to do more and, with God's help, to rescue many.
